A pallet made of cardboard, the Revopallet, is to revolutionize transport. The Almelo Garden Furniture Giant is one of the customers.
While studying at Saxion, Nick Geels was already thinking about heavy pallets and what other solutions are possible for them. After two years of product development, Revopal is currently one of the largest producers of cardboard pallets.
Kees Smit was keen to be the launching customer, as the pallet fits into its mission of corporate social responsibility (CSR).
There are many different advantages to the Revopallet, according to Geels: 'The pallet is 100% made of recycled paper, so this contributes to a circular economy. In addition, the pallet weighs about 3.7kg, which lightens the workload and is therefore interesting from a health and safety perspective. A (traditional) wooden pallet weighs about 23 kilograms.
