What is a circular economy?

A circular economy is an economic system that aims to maximise the reuse of products and raw materials and to minimise waste and pollution. Unlike the traditional linear model of ‘take, make, use and dispose’, a circular economy focuses on closing loops. This means products are reused and recycled as much as possible, so that their value is retained.

How we prevent waste

Preventing as much waste as possible and using raw materials as efficiently as possible is achieved by:

  1. 1Redesigning products and processes
  2. 2Reusing and recycling materials and products
  3. 3Keeping the value of raw materials as high as possible
