When to choose a cardboard display pallet?
Published on
A Revopal cardboard display pallet measures 400 × 600 mm and consists of a top sheet of recycled cardboard with pallet feet underneath. You choose it when you want to display or transport light products on the shop floor, without a pallet exchange system or ISPM 15 treatment for export. This article explains when the display pallet is the right choice, and when a different size fits better.
What is a cardboard display pallet?
The Revopal cardboard display pallet measures 400 × 600 mm and is made up of a top sheet of recycled cardboard with pallet feet underneath. The pallet feet are available in standard sizes and custom sizes, so the construction matches your load.
Revopal does not set the load capacity as standard, but per request. The pallet is available in different strengths and specifications; our advisers calculate with you based on your load and your transport.
When is a display pallet the right choice?
The display pallet is originally a pallet for the shop floor: retailers use it to display products at the point of sale. It is also suitable for storing and transporting light products, for example when a shipment is too small for a euro pallet of 800 × 1200 mm.
A second situation is the pallet that stays behind with your customer. The display pallet does not need to return through a pallet exchange system; it is fully recyclable and returns to the recycling process after use.
The size itself is an argument too: at 400 × 600 mm the pallet fits on the shop floor between the shelves, and its light weight means your employees move it by hand.
- You want to display or store light products on the shop floor
- The display pallet travels with the shipment and does not need to return through a pallet exchange system
- Your employees move the pallet by hand
- You export and want to ship without ISPM 15 treatment
What do your employees notice?
The display pallet is light. Anyone who picks up, moves or unpacks pallets all day notices this immediately: lifting and shifting is less heavy.
In addition, there are no splinters or nails, so your employees are less likely to injure themselves. This difference with wood becomes visible as soon as employees work with pallets every day.
Where does the display pallet come from?
Revopal has produced the pallets in the Netherlands since 2019. Production takes place in a socially responsible way and offers people who face barriers to employment an opportunity.
The material is recycled cardboard. When the pallet is no longer used, it returns to the recycling process, which provides an environmentally friendly waste stream. Read more about how that works on the page about the circular economy.
And for export?
The cardboard display pallet needs no ISPM 15 treatment for export and can therefore be used worldwide.
Because no pallet exchange system is involved, the pallet stays with the recipient. They can pass it on to the recycling process, so the material is usable again for new products.
If you are unsure whether your shipment or display is suitable, include your shipping process in the request form; our adviser will look at it with you.
When should you choose a different size?
The display pallet is not intended for storage in open racking; racking variants are available for that. It is also only suitable for light products. Include this in your request and our adviser will think along with you.
If your load is larger or heavier, choose the cardboard mini pallet (600 × 800 mm), the cardboard euro pallet (800 × 1200 mm), the block pallet (1000 or 1200 × 1200 mm) or a custom pallet up to 3150 × 1200 mm. Those pallets are light and made of recycled cardboard too; their load capacity is also set per request. Compare the choices in When to choose a cardboard mini pallet? and view the cardboard display pallet on the product page.
A cardboard display pallet needs little space, travels with the shipment and stays outside the pallet exchange system. If you are unsure whether your load is too light or too small for a larger size, the mini pallet is the next size to look at.
