When to choose a custom cardboard pallet?

Published on 21 October 2026

A custom cardboard pallet from Revopal is made to the dimensions your load requires, up to a maximum of 3150 × 1200 mm. You choose it when your product does not fit a standard pallet, or when you want to make better use of the space in the trailer. This article explains when a custom pallet is the right choice, how it is made, and when a standard size is enough.

What is a custom cardboard pallet?

Revopal makes custom cardboard pallets to the dimensions your load requires, up to a maximum length of 3150 mm and width of 1200 mm. The material is recycled cardboard, and Revopal determines the load capacity based on your request.

You choose this pallet when your product does not fit a standard pallet, or when the space in your trailer can be used better. Other aspects of the construction, such as pallet feet in standard or custom sizes, you determine together with Revopal.

When is a custom pallet the right choice?

Many products do not fit neatly on a euro pallet of 800 × 1200 mm or a block pallet of 1000 or 1200 × 1200 mm. Anyone who ships overhanging products on standard pallets anyway runs a greater risk of damage. A custom pallet fits your product exactly.

The pallet also determines how full your trailer is. With the right size you get the most out of the loading space — especially with long or wide products that makes a noticeable difference per shipment.

Your product does not fit the standard sizes of 800 × 1200, 1000 × 1200 or 1200 × 1200 mm
Products overhang the edges of a standard pallet
You want to get more space out of the trailer with long or wide loads
The shipment is on its way to your customer and the pallet does not need to return through a pallet exchange system
You export and want to ship without ISPM 15 treatment

How is your pallet made?

Via the request form you pass on the dimensions and the required load capacity. Revopal then looks at the construction with you, so that the pallet distributes the forces of your product well.

Production takes place in the Netherlands, by Revopal itself. As on all our pages: the pallets are made of recycled cardboard and stay light, even in long formats.

What do you notice about the weight?

Even a pallet several metres long stays light, because the material is recycled cardboard. Employees who lift and move pallets every day notice that difference with wood.

Cardboard also has no splinters and no nails, which means fewer injuries on the work floor.

When should you choose a standard pallet?

If your load does fit a standard size, that is often the better choice. The cardboard euro pallet (800 × 1200 mm), the block pallet (1000 or 1200 × 1200 mm) and the mini pallet (600 × 800 mm) cover most shipments and can be deployed faster.

If you are unsure about the best size for your transport, include your shipping process in the request form. Our advisers will calculate with you.
