When to choose cardboard pallet feet?
Published on
Pallet feet are supports of recycled cardboard that you place under your boxes or products, as honeycomb feet or as tube feet. They give your load a stable base, are light and fully recyclable, and for export no ISPM 15 treatment is needed. This article explains when pallet feet are the right choice, which version fits, and when a complete pallet is better.
What are cardboard pallet feet?
Pallet feet are supports of recycled cardboard that you place under your boxes or products. They give your goods a stable base during transport and storage and help prevent damage. Revopal supplies pallet feet of honeycomb paper or as tube feet.
Both versions are available in standard sizes and custom sizes, with or without self-adhesive. If you choose the self-adhesive version, the foot stays in place. Unsure about the strength? Our advisers calculate with you based on your load and your transport.
The application differs. The pallet feet support cardboard boxes, or serve as filling around your products during transport and storage.
Honeycomb foot or tube foot: what is the difference?
The honeycomb foot is made of honeycomb paper: a light, honeycomb-structured material of recycled cardboard. That structure gives it a high load capacity with minimal use of material. Revopal specialises in producing this paper and supplies it in various thicknesses and strengths, up to 3150 × 1200 mm.
The second version is the tube foot. Which version suits your application depends on your load, your boxes and your transport. State in your request what you ship and how you transport it, and our advisers will think along with you.
When are pallet feet the right choice?
The question is not whether pallet feet are good, but whether they suit your shipment. They are intended for loads that do not need a complete pallet platform, but can use support under the box or the product. These are the situations in which they are a logical choice:
In doubt between the honeycomb foot and the tube foot? State in your request what you use the feet for, and we will advise on the version.
- You want to keep boxes or products off the floor during transport and storage
- You want to prevent damage to your products
- You want light material that your employees can handle easily
- You export and want to ship without ISPM 15 treatment
- You want a recycled and fully recyclable solution, without wood or plastic
When should you choose a complete pallet instead?
Pallet feet are intended for loads that rest on the feet themselves. If your shipment needs a complete pallet platform, choose a cardboard pallet from Revopal: the euro pallet (800 × 1200 mm), the block pallet (1000 or 1200 × 1200 mm), the mini pallet (600 × 800 mm) or a custom pallet up to 3150 × 1200 mm.
Those pallets are light and made of recycled cardboard too. Their load capacity is also determined per request, based on your load and transport.
Unsure what your shipment needs? State in your request what you ship and how heavy the load is. Our adviser will then assess whether pallet feet are sufficient or whether a pallet is the better solution.
Recycled, recyclable and produced in the Netherlands
The pallet feet are made of recycled material and are fully recyclable, an alternative to wooden or plastic pallet feet. After use they go into the recycling process, so the material is usable again. Read how that cycle works on the page about the circular economy.
Revopal produces these recycled packaging products in the Netherlands, since 2019, in a socially responsible way. Unsure whether pallet feet suit your shipment? State your load and your transport in the request form, and our adviser will look at it with you.
